FW Transparent Acrylic Ink Hero

Daler-Rowney FW Acrylic Inks

Daler-Rowney FW Acrylic Inks are acrylic-based, pigmented, water-resistant artists' inks with a high degree of lightfastness and intermixability. FW Acrylic Ink can be used straight out of the dropper or diluted to achieve the most subtle of tones.

The expressive fluidity of acrylic inks is suitable for use by fine artists, illustrators, graphic designers, calligraphers, decorative artists and hobbyists.

Features

Lightfast & Permanent

FW Inks are pigment-based, water-resistant inks with a highest degree of lightfastness (3*) so colors will not fade over time like traditional inks*. With Premium acrylic inks, you get the fluidity of traditional inks and the permanency and versatility of acrylics. FW Inks will dry to a water-resistant film on virtually all surfaces, and successive layers of color can be laid over.
*Fluorescent colors are fugitive due to the nature of the fluorescent pigments.

Includes a Range of 22 Pearlescent Colors

FW Pearlescent Inks can be used to add shimmer and shine to any artwork or art project such as greeting cards, seasonal decorations, mounts and frames. These Fine Art inks are perfect to create dazzling effects where highly decorative elements are required to illuminate different forms.

FW Pearlescent Inks work best if put down freely rather than applying successive layers of color.  Pearlescent colors are water-soluble when wet, but dry to a water-resistant film on most surfaces.   The best means of applying pearlescent colors is by using a dipper pen, ruling pen or brush.

*Because of the large particle size of pearlescent pigments, they will not go through fine line nozzles for airbrushes, nor are they suitable for technical pens, fountain pens and paint markers (like FW Mixed Media Paint Markers).

Transparency

All FW Acrylic Inks including Pearlescent colors are translucent so it’s easy to glaze, create washes and layer colors. They can be used straight out of the dropper or diluted to achieve more subtle tones and watercolor effects. Allow the white of your surface to shine through the color for optimal vibrancy.

Versatility

FW Inks are incredibly versatile. They can be used as a traditional acrylic: applied with brushes and airbrushes. They can also be used with technical pens and paint markers, making them ideal for producing finely worked drawings and technical illustrations.

Anthony Cerrantini

FW Inks adhere to virtually any surface including conventional art surfaces like canvas and paper. It is always recommended to prepare your surface and test on a small area in advance.

FW Ink Pouring Medium

Daler-Rowney FW Ink Pouring Medium is the first pouring medium to use with fine art inks and is ideal to use with FW Acrylic Inks, System3 Acrylic Inks and even Aquafine Watercolor Inks. This medium is compatible with all pouring techniques including dirty pour, swirl, puddle pour, flip cup and swipe techniques to create magnificent cells and outstanding effects. Finished pours dry to a smooth and even colored film on canvas, wood and other primed surfaces.

It’s recommended to mix 1 part ink to 1 part ink pouring medium, then pour the colors over the chosen surface, but feel free to play around with the ratio of ink to ink pouring medium to best suit your needs. Learn more about the different ways to use FW Ink Pouring Medium here.

FW Ink Epoxy Resin & Hardener

Create optically clear, high gloss finish resin art with a smooth, even-colored film. It has been optimized so the high-loaded pigments used in FW Inks will create bright and vibrant resin art. It has excellent UV resistance, clarity and transparency making the FW epoxy system particularly suitable for the protection and decoration of paintings, artwork and sculptures. It is ideal for use as a tabletop/coating resin and can be applied by pouring or by brush/roller.
